MISSION STATEMENT
To assemble, document and display every known U.S. 45 rpm record (1949 to 1989) into one organized collection, located in a museum-like setting, for the purpose of archiving, preserving and displaying this most important music legacy of the 20th century.
MARKET ANALYSIS / COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
Nowhere in the world is there any venue comparable to the 45 Record Preservation Museum. This would a one-of-a-kind setting for the public to view and enjoy all the sights and sounds the Museum would have to offer. The 45RPM Museum would not be in competition with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It is inconceivable that nowhere on their site do they even mention the 45 rpm record, or the historic stamp the 45 put on, not only Rock & Roll, but every aspect of music during the last half of the 20th century.
CUSTOMER DEFINITION
The 45 Record Preservation Museum customers would be visitors to the Museum and they would be provided the opportunity to view and interact with the many audio and visual displays therein.
SERVICES / PRODUCTS
Services the Museum would provide would be audio and visual displays throughout the venue. Visitors/customers would also be able to purchase 45 rpm records on the site.
INCOME GENERATION / REVENUE MODEL
Revenue would be generated by entrance fees, concession profits and 45 rpm record sales. There will also be a Museum Gift Shop offering visitors all things record related. The all-important “Return On Investment” could begin within less than the five year norm.
MUSEUM LOCATION
The Museum would be located in one of the four Middle Atlantic States: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland. The location would depend on site availability, local building restrictions, etc.
FUNDING
Estimated funding for a project of this size and scope would require between 10 and 15 million dollars. While an investment of this undertaking is no small sum, the benefits would be tremendous. Nowhere in the world would there be anything like it. Music lovers of all ages, over three generations, would be able to take advantage of all the Museum has to offer.
